Duplicraft recently acquired a new Brown and Sharpe CMM. It is a DCC (direct computer controlled) powered Global 575 equipped with PC-DMIS software.
Integrating the CMM into the tooling procurement process will enable Duplicraft to:
- Conduct a comprehensive quantitative analysis on all tooling prior to shipment without human intervention. Over 250 features are checked on each tool to ensure conformance.
- Improve the in-process inspection on all critical features to validate conformance throughout the production process and serve to monitor and refine production process capabilities.
- Establish a database to effectively manage the tooling history from initial implementation through all subsequent repairs and revisions.
